Job Purpose

Provide a summary of the overall purpose of the role within the organization.

The Group Junior Network Engineer is responsible for developing, managing, and actively monitoring the global Eurofit network, including local branch networks. You will be actively mentored and work closely under supervision from more experienced colleagues.

You will report to the Group IT Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Focus on the responsibilities that provide an indication of the scope and impact of the role.

• You will be co-responsible for the deployment, daily management, and support of the group’s network infrastructure (HQ in Zaventem and in 18 plants).
• You will operate and maintain the global monitoring solution and ensure proactive remediation of potential incidents.
• Together with the Networking Team and the Systems Team, you will participate in defining group standards for networking (topology, security, hardware, …).

Competencies & Expertise

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT or equivalent through experience
• Minimal 2 years of relevant professional hands-on experience

Functional / Behavioural competencies

• Solid technical network engineering skills and good knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 network technologies.
• Familiarity in highly available architectures and secure network designs.
• Knowledgeable in FIREWALL, and VPN preferably FORTINET.
• Can evaluate, test, administer, and troubleshoot routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.
• Familiar with cloud environments like MS Azure, AWS, or Google cloud (MS Azure is an asset).
• Knowledge in hyperconverged hosting environments is an asset.
• Fluent in scripting languages and open-source networking tools.
• Used to working in a team as well as independently.
• Strong analytical, synthesis, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A result-oriented attitude with a sense of responsibility, initiative & ownership.
• Willingness to learn and grow.
• A strong concern for quality.
• Occasional travel to plants will be required; frequency depends on active projects.
• Language: Fluent in Dutch & English. French, German, and Spanish are an asset.
• Experience in international, multicultural environments is an asset.
